A Wendy Williams Biopic Is Coming To Lifetime

A Wendy Williams biopic is on the way!

On Tuesday (July 23), Lifetime announced that it's developing a biopic based on the talk show host, which will reveal the "highs and lows she has experienced throughout her show," People reports.

According to a press release, "The authorized project provides a revealing look at Wendy’s journey, from her scrappy upstart days in urban radio to the success of her own syndicated talk show." It will go into production this fall and air in 2020.

Wendy has already signed on to executive produce the biopic and Leigh Davenport will write the script.

As fans know, it's been a year of changes for the Wendy Williams Show host. She filed for divorce from her husband of 22 years Kevin Hunter in April — a decision that was reportedly sparked by Kevin's alleged longtime mistress having his child in March. Since then, the former couple's divorce drama has played out in the media.

Last month, Wendy announced that she's dating a doctor after being linked to a 27-year-old convicted felon. "Well, I’m not on the market anymore," she told her show audience. "I don’t know how I’m doing! I’m not in love, but there’s somebody that I’m crazy about." Wendy added, "he’s been married, his kids are in their 20s. And yes, he’s black. I know you’re wondering."

The 55-year-old talk show host also revealed that she's been diagnosed with Lymphedema — a chronic condition that causes swelling in the body's tissues — after being forced to take an extended hiatus from her talk show earlier this year due to a health scare.

So, let's just say, this biopic will not be short of content.
