Five-time Emmy-nominated acting legend Marla Gibbs received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Tuesday (July 20) and nearly fainted during her acceptance speech.

According to New York Daily News, the 90-year-old 227 star began expressing her thanks before she paused and closed her eyes, apparently overwhelmed by the Los Angeles 88 degree afternoon heat

“Thank you to all of you who have been fans of The Jeffersons and 227,” the actress said in her remarks. “We love you and it’s because you watched us that we’re able to excel and I’m able to be here today,” she said before pausing.

Her son stepped in to prevent the actress from falling to the ground. A chair was brought before she was quickly transferred to an indoor facility. According to a report by ABC News 7, the legend is doing okay and was “overwhelmed by the honor.”

Before Gibbs took the stage, actress Tisha Campbell spoke, highlighting some of Gibbs’ history-making career moments.

Gibbs was only supposed to make a guest appearance on The Jeffersons, but was cast as a series regular on the show which ran from 1975 to 1985. Gibbs also earned consecutive Emmy nominations for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her work on the show. With 227, Marla Gibbs became the first woman to executive produce and star in her own television series, Campbell noted.

The star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is certainly well-deserved.
