A mistress didn't end Mara Brock Akil and Salim's 21 year marriage

The show "Love Is ______?" may have been canceled but whats still going is Mara Brock Akil and Salim's marriage. As Mara put it in her recent Instagram post the two are still "Holding on tight" to each other and have been for the past 21 years. Their show "Love is ___?" was based on the Akils’ real-life relationship which was both beautiful and trying at times. The series followed a modern-day power couple in Black Hollywood balancing successful careers and family over three decades. The series was originally renewed for a second season but on OWN canceled the series after Salim Akil's mistress accused him of domestic violence, as well as copyright infringement. Salim denies the allegations and has been able to keep his marriage together.
